4.36.2 Carriage of Dangerous Goods in an Aircraft.

- PiC MAY offer or accept dangerous goods, if they are;
- classified, documented, certified,
- described,packaged,
- marked, and labelled
- in accordance with the Technical Instructions

- Technical Instructions prescribe the conditions for shipment
- and rules for acceptance, handling, and carriage (Council of ICAO)

- Include;
- Explosives, Gasses, Flammable Liquids,
- Chemical reaction when exposed,
- Corrosives when leaked,
- Toxic substances when inhaled, swallowed or touched
4.32.30 Aircraft Towing Objects other than Gliders.
1. Pilot
- Must have PPL, CPL, or ATPL AND a
- Tow Rating
- NO passengers
2. Aircraft
- Aircraft equipped with tow hook,
- attachment assembly and
- quick release mechanism
- Positive rate of climb

You need a Glider Tow Rating
3. Towing
- Check tow hook and attachment assembly and pilot-activated quick release.
- Tow line must meet requirements of Appendix A.
- Confirm take-off, glider release, airspeed, and emergency signals
- established by gliding organisation
4.32.26 Parachute Drops
1. Preparation
- Need parachute-drop rating and valid airworthiness certificate,
- Flight manual must authorise door removed / open
- Details of descent prior to take-off shall be authorised.
- Consider suitable points for static lines
2. In Flight
- Adequate interior space and
- satisfactory egress for each parachutist,
- Each passenger occupies a seat and
- fastens his/her safety belt during take-off and landing
3. Emergencies
- Consider;
- Inadvertent opening of a parachute in the aircraft or during egress, and
- Inadvertent interference with aircraft controls;
- Check emergency or reserve parachute assembly.
- Briefing re; aircraft emergency procedures and exiting.
4.32.24 Aerobatics
1. General
- Flight Manual must allow Aerobatics
- In a Control Zone get ATC clearance
- Not allowed over populated areas or
- groups of people within 600 m,
- Except at Aviation Event
2. At or above 3000 ft AGL
- NO passengers - NO rating required
- With passengers - rating is required
- Exception; at an aviation event
3. Between 1500 and 3000 ft AGL
- Aerobatics RATING required.
- NO passengers allowed
4. Below 1500 ft AGL
- Additional rating endorsements required,
- NO passengers
- Aviation Event ONLY
- Pilot doesn't go below authorised lower limit
4.32.18 Speed Limitation of Aircraft
1. Speed Limit - VFR
- 250 knots IAS
- below 10 000 feet AMSL
- in Class C, D & G airspace
3. Exceptions
- If aircraft minimum safe speed is more than 250 kts AND
- Operated at that minimum safe speed AND
- if you are operating at an aviation event.
2. Speed Limit - IFR
- 250 knots IAS
- below 10 000 feet AMSL
- in Class D & G airspace
4.32.14 Aircraft near other aircraft
1. Hazards
- Not so close as to
- cause a collision hazard
3. Exceptions
- Formation flight only permitted by
- prior arrangement between PiC of each aircraft
- Passengers by prior arrangement.
2. Having Fun
- NO passengers in formation for hire/reward,
- other than a parachute drop
- or an adventure aviation formation flight operation
4.32.12 Carriage of Cargo.
1. Location
- Cargo shall be carried on a seat,
- in a cargo rack or bin,
- or a cargo or baggage compartment.
2. Cargo Safety
- Secured by safety belt or other restraint
- Packaged and covered to avoid injury
- Consider load limitation for seats and floors.
- Emergency Exits Clear.
4.32.10 Stowage of Carry-on Baggage
1. Before Take-off or Landing
- All passenger baggage shall be stowed in a
- baggage locker, or
- under a passenger seat.
2. Turbulence/ Accident
- Baggage shall be stowed so it will not
- slide around under crash impact or turbulence or
- hinder aircraft evacuation.
